2/27/2023 0 Comments World legacy mind meldOur Kaiju package is 2 Gadarla, 2 Gameciel, 3 Interrupted Kaiju Slumber, 1 Kyoutou Waterfront (for the grind game), and 1 Thunder King (searchable off of Deus X-Krawler's floating effect). We're on Beetrooper Scale Bomber and Magical Hound as our Small World bridges, but they both do work for the deck Scale Bomber is an extender and Magical Hound can bounce a floodgate. One of the main risks of this approach is if the opponent is playing a Trap/Quickplay deck like Labrynth or Runic, in which case we will need to side into other board-breaking options. By going second, we avoid the most damaging removal for Krawlers (when they're face-down and can't float), and get many of the opponent's most powerful mosnters out of the way. We let the opponent make their best board, and then we Dark Ruler, Interrupted Kaiju Slumber, and just plain old Kaiju the opponent's best sources of interruption before making our board. Kaijus help the Krawlers generally slow, setup-oriented gameplan by allowing us to go second. A going-first build has to contend with the opponent's hand traps and interruption as well as board clears like Lightning Storm, Raigeki, and Harpie's Feather Duster. They can flood the board, thanks to Soma, and have a strong Skill Drain monster in Deus X-Krawler, not to mention all of the Krawlers (except Soma) float into more Krawlers! The downside is that these are still flip-monsters, and as such they needs lots of support to get the best out of them. Each Krawler you get to stick on field is a renewable effect to either pop a card, summon a Krawler from GY or hand, or to return 2 cards from GY to hand (just the Krawlers in this list). This list was made possible by contributions from the Krawler discord, and user Marowak2000 in particular, so many thank!Īlright, Krawlers: what do they do well, what do they struggle with, and what does their partner in this build (Kaiju) bring to the table? Krawlers have a very strong grind game. I'll be going over what Krawlers do well/poorly, what the blending of these archetypes brings to the deck, as well as a card-by-card of the most notable additions to this list. I'm doing so to stretch myself creatively, and to get to know the archetype better. This is a part of a series I'm working on where I try to build as many variants of Krawler as I can. We want to slow down the game to a pace we can control and use our board-breakers and stun tools to keep the opponent from being able to meaningfully interract with our board. This list attempts to use Kaiju's removal with Krawler's control to play a very defensive going-second build.
